CISANET WANTS FISP SHIFTED TO FARMERS’ CLUBS

The Civil Society Agriculture Network (CISANET) has said the 2017/2018 financial year should be the year for radical reforms in Farm Input Subsidy Programme (Fisp) including a move from targeting ultra-poor individuals to productive farmers’ clubs.

STATEMENT BY PETER MUTHARIKA, PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF MALAWI AT THE OPENING OF THE 2017 TOBACCO MARKETING SEASON  ON TUESDAY, 11TH APRIL, 2017

 
 
I am delighted to be here today to officially open the 2017 tobacco marketing season. This year’s tobacco growing season has been favoured with good weather patterns, suitable for tobacco and other crops. We have seen a beautiful crop on the selling floors. We have seen the harvest is of good quality that raises hope.
